Job Description Summary:

The IT Network Support Engineer acts as a liaison between end users and IT management concerning all workstations, network operating systems and application software. This position manages end user requests and issues related to company-issued IT equipment and connectivity.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
A. IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications
B. Support virtual environments built on Microsoft's Hyper-V or VMWare.
C. Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
D. Engineer and implement system solutions using technologies that meet their needs- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions
E. Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
F. Remote access solution implementation and support using VPN and Terminal Services
G. System documentation to include system reviews and recommendations
H. Communicate with users and keep them informed of your progress. Notifying them of changes or agreed outages
I. Back up network data.
J. Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
K. Analyze and report computer network security breaches or attempted breaches.
L. Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment.
M. Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure sufficient availability or speed, to identify network problems, or for disaster recovery purposes.
N. Provide Tier 2, and as needed Tier1, end user support.

Position Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, including 1 year of hands-on experience with network infrastructure in an enterprise environment comprised primarily of Cisco, is required.
2. CompTIA Security+ certification strongly preferred.
3. Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, CSSA, Cisco CCNA, or other highly desired.
4. Experience in installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading computer operating systems software and hardware and implementing applicable patches.
5. Ability to support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to the network, servers, PC, laptops and mobile devices. 

6. Ability to support and maintain Cisco Firewall and VPN configurations, server operating systems and deploy new servers

7. Working knowledge of proper archiving, sanitizing and disposing processes for hardware, software, data and facility resources in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements.
