Job Description Summary:

The Director of Operations - Private Duty will provide customer-centered quality home care services with a strong emphasis on reliable delivery/coordination of client care by recruiting, assigning and supervising competent caregivers. Proactively markets Non-medical services and ensures that client visits are staffed by appropriate disciplines.

 Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  1. Assumes full authority and responsibility for the operation of the Private Home Care Provider (PHCP). Appoints a similarly-qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the Regional Director of Operations.
  2. Proactively anticipates recruiting needs. Seeks/sources, interviews and on-boards qualified direct care staff.  Maintains an excellent level of customer service by establishing predetermined levels of direct care staff  inventory to ensure the Agency has staff ready to begin assignment at all times to meet client needs.
  3. Facilitates local recruiting events to build a strong presence in the community. Develops and fosters strong relationships with community recruiting resources and seeks to identify new resources.
  4. Following corporate guidelines, establishes and maintains personnel records for all agency employees, administrative records and all policies and procedures. Maintains all agency files to include storage and retrieval.
  5. Coordinates and facilitates caregiver orientation.
  6. Supervises all direct care staff and Scheduling Coordinator
  7. Assures that client visits are scheduled appropriately to meet clients’ needs.
  8. Ensures the preparing, processing and submission of payroll and distribution of payroll checks to staff occurs in accordance with corporate guidelines and time line.

  1. Investigates all employee and customer complaints/concerns; provides appropriate feedback to the Regional Director of Operations with corrective action plan as needed.
  2. Assures compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  3. Responsible for participating in after-hours and weekend on-call as required.
  4. Follows all privacy policies and maintains the confidentiality of protected healthcare information (PHI). Maintains familiarity with all State and Federal Laws governing non-medical services and follows those laws appropriately.
  5. Achieves net contribution growth goals necessary to support company objectives.
  6. Consistently meets sales call objectives as established by the Regional Director of Operations (RDO).
  7. Effectively cultivates new business opportunities. 

Position Qualifications:

  1. Minimum Associate’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising or health care-related field with Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of Home care or Private Duty Marketing experience is required with a proven track record of meeting established sales quota numbers.  
  3. Demonstrates ability to recruit, select and supervise administrative and direct care staff. Start-up experience strongly preferred.
  4. Must have a valid driver’s license for the agency state of operation with appropriate auto insurance.  
  5. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with strong presentation skills are required.
  6. Must have strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook programs.
  1. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial metrics and key performance indicators.

Continuing Education Requirements:

Organization personnel are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor.  In addition, organization personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job related skills and abilities.  All personnel must attend mandatory educational programs.

Environmental Conditions: 

May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold in all weather conditions.  Must drive in various weather conditions on roads in varying degrees of repair.

Working Conditions:  

May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases.  Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances.  May be exposed or occasionally exposed to patient elements.  Subject to varying and unpredictable situations.  Handles emergency or crisis situations.  Travel required.  OSHA exposure category: 

Required Personal Protective Equipment:     As required by working conditions.
